Ventura Projects comes full circle in Milan for the 2019 edition of Ventura Future

Milan, 9 October 2019 - For Milan Design Week 2019, Ventura Projects is partnering with BASE Milano to present Ventura Future. In April 2019, during the Milan Design Week, Ventura Future has chosen a close collaboration with the cultural project BASE which is located in the Ex-Ansaldo - a former industrial area in Milan. BASE Milano is a cultural project aimed at promoting innovation, life-long learning and cross-pollination in the creative industries and will be our host during Ventura Future. Ventura Future will occupy 3500 square metres divided over two floors.

Ex-Ansaldo is located in the Tortona area and happens to be the exact same place where Organisation in Design, the production company behind Ventura Projects, once organised its very first events such as a major solo show by well-known Dutch designer Marcel Wanders. For Ventura Projects founder Margriet Vollenberg it makes perfect sense to be back at the place where it all started: "It has been our mission to create a platform for a group of designers that traditionally had a hard time being able to show their work in Milan. The eight editions of Ventura Lambrate have been the living proof that we have succeeded in creating such a platform, but times change and part of our success meant we had to adapt. This means we are always on the look-out for a place where we feel we best serve the designers we exhibit."

"Being in one of the main design districts has huge advantages and we wanted to seize those. It is all in walking distance and a true creative hub. This is the perfect place to create visibility, generate exposure and business. In the end our exhibitors are best helped by being in the limelight of the most influential people in the creative industry. By choosing to partner with BASE Milano we can ensure that this is just what the exhibitors get. But of course we will still remain true to our roots, and show a carefully curated, exciting exhibition that will showcase the latest developments in international contemporary design."

The nomads of Ventura Projects have used several locations all over Milan for their well-received events. In 2017 they opened the doors to the vaults of Milan's central station and created a whole new member of the Ventura Project family, in the form of Ventura Centrale. Only last year the very first edition of Ventura Future took place: a show dedicated to bringing all that people have come to expect from Ventura Projects with plenty of context and the exciting backdrop of an old chemistry faculty, that had been abandoned for 15 years, and a newly restored housing museum.

This unique Ventura mix of upcoming talents, international academies, fresh labels and highly creative and highly skilled brands and companies has created a big fan base over the years. "I think the industry knows what Ventura Projects can do for them. It’s a great place for talent scouting, for discovering trends and finding inspiration and on top of that it’s ideal for doing business. It feels great to be at the heart of it all for the 2019 edition."

"It is a great achievement for us to join forces with Ventura Projects, a synonym for new aesthetics, experimenting and fresh ideas in the global design scene. This is a perfect match for BASE as an accelerator in the creative industries. And it is very good news for the Tortona design district, going back to its roots as the original design district where so much of Milan Design Week story started. The Ventura Projects exhibit will perfectly fit with our programme for Milan Design Week," says Giulia Cugnasca, General Manager at BASE Milano.

Ventura Future + BASE Milano will comprise 3500 square metres on two floors, framed by the white and freshly renewed exhibition hall and the cosy casaBASE, a hotel which will transform itself into a full design experience during Milan Design Week. BASE Milano is located at Via Bergognone 34, 20144, Milan, Italy.
