Milano Design Week 2019
Day 3: It's business time

It feels already like Friday, but officially the Milan Design Week has only just begun.

This morning I gave a guided tour at Ventura Future to members of the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs and Ministry of Education, Culture and Science, to the Topteam Creative Industry, and to the Dutch Consulate General of Milan. For several projects both in Milan and in Holland we work closely together with these institutions and it’s always a pleasure to introduce the new current design trends. Today, they were especially interested in the bio-design project we organised in conjunction with the Dutch Consulate in Milan.

After a quick lunch we got back right back to business. Looking for ways to expand the Ventura Projects horizon is always in my agenda. All year round I travel the world looking for new possible events we can create. Today I talked with the Moscow Design Week about the possibility of expanding to Russia...(?!).
In the afternoon I took part in the round table of the 26th Biennial of Design (BIO), which will be happening at the end of 2019 at the Museum of Architecture and Design (MAO) in Ljubljana. I was the curator in 2012 and it was great to talk with the round table moderator and curator of this edition, Thomas Geisler. We spoke about the past and the future of the Biennial as well as the challenges. It was very nice to change ideas with all the past BIO curators such as Jan Boelen and Angela Rui.

While our favorite RAI television was shooting material at Ventura Centrale for the news broadcast, I had a bit of time left to get into town and visit the presentations of Kvadrat and Seletti. All just before ending the day in the best possible way, with a creative dinner co-hosted with my good friend Creative Chef. Visually exciting, with incredible fragrances from SOM Tales of Perfume and a magical experience for the taste buts.

Bon appetit!
